Geek Squad (Best Buy)

Geek Squad is Best Buy’s tech support. It is a fit when the computer, TV, or other device came from Best Buy and you want their store, or an in-home appointment they schedule. Best Buy also sells memberships that include some of that help. If the job is a business network or a house someone needs to remember next time, ask them who is coming and whether that work is in the visit. Their current service prices did not load for this page, so the table says Varies.

HelloTech

HelloTech books in-home technicians and sells memberships with remote support. It is a fit for a defined task — a computer problem, a Wi-Fi visit, a smart-home device — when you are fine with the technician they send. They advertise home and business work, and a service list that includes Wi-Fi, cameras, locks, and thermostats. They do not say you get the same person each time. Town coverage is something they confirm when you book, not something this page can promise for every South Jersey address.

Vendor or ISP support

Call the internet, TV, or phone company when their line or their rental equipment is the problem. That is what their technician is for, and for an existing Xfinity customer an Xfinity-related service issue is a visit they say they do not charge. The company that made the router, camera, or computer is the right first call for a warranty question on that one product. Neither one is a person who walks the whole office or the shore house. Xfinity’s own page says a fee can apply when the trouble is not their service or their rental gear.

A local shop is the right call when they already know the building and they do the work you need. Hours, price, and what they will take on are not the same from one shop to the next, so this column is not a review of anyone by name. Ask who shows up the second time, and whether they do both the office and the house.

Geek Squad. Varies. Best Buy’s computer-services page did not load on October 4, 2026, so this page does not repeat a Geek Squad dollar amount.

HelloTech. Starting around $59 is the lowest “starting at” price on their Comcast Business service list that day: computer repair and printer troubleshooting. Wi-Fi support and smart security camera installation were listed starting at $129. Their membership page listed in-home visits at $69 for members, and plans at $59 for 3 months, $109 for 6 months, and $199 for 12 months. The hellotech.com homepage showed no dollar amount. Comments on the $59 page are dated 2020. Read computer repair, the service list, membership plans, and plan details. Accessed October 4, 2026.

Vendor or ISP support. Varies, because these are not one product. On October 4, 2026, Xfinity’s prepare-for-a-service-visit page said a $100 charge applies if a technician has to finish an installation, or if the issue is not Xfinity service or rental equipment, and that the fee is waived for an existing customer with an Xfinity-related service issue. Verizon’s Fios TV rate card, effective August 1, 2025, lists a tech visit charge of up to $100. A manufacturer phone line was not one public starting price.
